  6. DiskSqueeze is a combination of several tools that combine  the  power
  7. of  the  LZX compression algorithm with the flexibility of the PackDev
  8. disk-imager. All necessary software is present in this archive, except
  9. the LZX program (see Aminet: util/arc).
  10.  
  11. Those not interested in  another  disk-compression  program  as  such,
  12. might  take  a  look at the very useful utilities included here, since
  13. some of these were not released on Aminet before.
  14.  
  15. DiskSqueeze version 1.21 is a major update of v1.01  of this  ultimate
  16. 'kick-ass' disk storage solution, with following enhancements:

  18. - writing to disk goes 100% faster
  19. - DMS-archives (any version) transparantly handled
  20. - DMS-archives can be automatically converted to DiskSqueeze-archives
  21. - no memory (or disk) required to handle DMS-archives
  22. - buggy DMS executable no longer needed to handle DMS-archives
  23. - DiskSqueeze-archive TEST option added
  24. - File_ID.DIZ option added
  25. - now using assembler-tools for extra speed (thanks Jorma!)
  26. - several bugfixes, enhancements and new extras (see docs)

  28. Other features (already implemented in v1.01):

  30. - ALWAYS better compression ratio (upto 35%) than DMS or any XPK
  31. - faster compression for registered LZX users (upto 30%)

  34. - fully multitasking + OS compliant (no alien libraries required)
  35. - easy, mouse-driven ASL user-interface (made even more intuitive)
  36. - smart memory-usage monitoring + full error-handling
  37. - extensive (and interesting!) AmigaGuide documentation
  38. - flexible installing (using the 'Installer'-tool)
  39. - including nice MagicWB icons  :-)

  64. This release was uploaded to Aminet because the program was in its current
  65. state (v1.21) sitting on my harddisk since the beginning of May, but school
  66. and girls kept me from uploading it.  Sorry guys!  Well, read the docs for
  67. more info on the fully reworked next release (v2.0), but I dunno when that
  68. will take place... Inbetween, love (or hate) this much improved version.
